"First time coming here and can’t wait to go back and work my way through the menu!! Really delicious choice of food!! I went with my mum and my 4 year old daughter and we all had totally different meals and were all so happy! They even have a drawing wall for kids which was an added bonus!! I had the Jerk chicken, bacon and avocado club sandwich, it was delicious! And very affordable!! Me, mum and my daughter all ate for £23"

"It started drizzling as I was walking along the seafront, so I stepped into the first open restaurant I saw. The chef welcomed me and apologized in advance for a possible delay, explaining that it was a one-woman operation and everything would be made from scratch. It was definitely worth the wait. The meatballs were juicy, with a well-seasoned sauce that balanced sweet, slightly bitter, and subtly sour flavors. The salmon was a pleasant surprise; the skin fried thin and perfectly crisp. Even the side potatoes, tossed with fresh olives and olive oil, were delicious."

"Poppy’s is a hidden gem in the heart of Hastings! Don’t be fooled by the diner-style look of the exterior and interior -the food is very special and made to order by the incredible chef Claudette. She clearly puts so much love into every dish that she cooks from scratch. It all tastes amazing and is beautifully presented. The menu is varied - I’ve sampled the jerk chicken, the coconut rice wrap and recently had the halloumi salad pictured here . Poppies is a huge asset to Trinity Triangle with very reasonable prices, a friendly warm atmosphere and incredible food! A must for anyone in the area who would like a tasty meal out any time of the day!"

"This place is a true gem. A wonderful 1950s atmosphere meets delicious hearty French inspired food. We also had the pleasure of chatting to the incredible, Claudette, Poppy's owner, amazing chef and -as we learned - pastry chef as well. Everything is made from scratch and you can taste it! "Poppy’s is a hidden gem based in Hastings town centre. I’ve eaten at Poppy’s a number of times. On each occasion it’s been excellent. I can highly recommend the vegetable wrap, and the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas. The desserts are divine. The food is cooked fresh by the Chef so there can be a wait - but you will not be disappointed."

"truly a hidden gem in hastings. every meal i have had at poppy’s has clearly been made with love and care. the portions are generous and reasonably priced and make you feel like you’re eating at your grandma’s house. we will certainly be back to try even more of the menu but so far, everything we have tried has been worth it!! special mention for the homemade sticky toffee pudding (with homemade custard) - this may have ruined all other sticky toffee puddings for me because nothing can compare"

"Popped in ad hock for a quick lunch with my daughter and son in law. We all ordered the club sandwiches. They had the jerk chicken. I had the vegan roast veg with added chilli all washed down with a couple of teas each. Gorgeous. Fresh, tasty and generous. I'll definitely be going back. I'd started eating before remembering to take a photo."

"Really lovely warm welcome here. We went on a Friday morning - quite possibly first customers of the day - and had the cooked breakfast and eggs benedict. This can with crispy parma ham and the most perfectly poached eggs I've ever had. All was cooked fresh, including the hollandaise sauce! The coffee was also delicious."
